Kansas pulls off a miracle
Posted by: EXPOSED at 12:48PM EST on April 8, 2008
WOW, did you see the game last night?! I'm not even that huge of a basketball fan anymore, but last nights game between Memphis and Kansas reinvigorated (sp?) my love for the game (especially at the college level)! what a show! I've watched all the final four games this year and the final championship made it all worth it. Chalmers' last second 3-pointer is getting most of the credit for the victory, but Memphis was really hurt by their terrible percentage from the line. They had opportunities to pull ahead but couldn't keep the momentum. But you have to give props to Rose who played all 45 minutes and arguably had the best overall performance in the game. All- in-all it was a great game, I'll be watching the whole season next year :)
Sad day for cheese heads - We'll miss you Brett

I, like most Packer (and football) fans, believed Favre was definitely coming back for another season. I almost choked up this morning when I heard the news that Farve was retiring (for good this time)! Wouldn't be surprised if my boyfriend actually did cry at this news - I'll let you know...
I'm from Minnesota originally, went to college in Wisconsin. I attempted to remain true to my home state but after 4 years in Wisconsin I converted to Packer mania. I loved watching Farve play, he has such a love for the game!
I will miss throwing on my Farve jersey every Sunday and spending the afternoon watching one of football's greatest!
Favorite Super Bowl ads?

What was your favorite Super Bowl ad?
my fav was the Pepsi - Wake Up People ad: see it here...Wake Up People

Do you have a least favorite ad?
I didn't care for the Under Armour commercial. It had cool effects and all, but the end..."The future is OURSSSSS!!!!" was a little too intense for me, it just made me laugh (but I don't think that was their goal).

The Twins ever changing roster
Posted by: RochesterMN at 12:32PM EST on January 30, 2008
To put a positive swing on things...lets just say the Twin's will be fresh and youthful going into the 2008 season. They've lost veterans Torii Hunter and Johan Santana and gained some young blood.
The Mets got a good deal with the Twins, who traded Santana for four prospects - outfielder Carlos Gomez, pitcher Kevin Mulvey, pitcher Philip Humber, and pitcher Deolis Guerra. (Humber is the oldest of the new prospects at age 25!)
Gomez will likely fill the center field position left by Hunter. Some think Mulvey can be a middle-of-the-rotation starter in the majors. Guerra is a wild card.
Too bad the Twins couldn't finish the deal with the Yankees, who would have sent pitcher Phil Hughes, center fielder Melky Cabrera and a minor leaguer to Minnesota. But Minnesota waited and the Yankees withdrew their offer.
At least last week's signings of Morneau and Cuddyer ensured the Twins won't be completely starting over.
I think don't think the Twin's 2008 roster is done changing. I think Twins fans are in for more surprises.

Twins keep Morneau and Cuddyer

By JON KRAWCZYNSKI AP Sports Writer
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ The Minnesota Twins locked up two young stars on Friday, signing former AL MVP Justin Morneau to a six-year extension and right fielder Michael Cuddyer for three more seasons.
Cuddyer's deal is worth $24 million. The terms for Morneau, the 2006 AL MVP who last week agreed to a $7.4 million, one-year deal to avoid arbitration, were not immediately available.
The deals were announced at the start of the TwinsFest and come while the team is shopping two-time Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana. Minnesota already saw center fielder Torii Hunter become a free agent and sign with the Los Angeles Angels and will lose Santana without much compensation if they don't trade him this year or sign him to a long-term deal.
Morneau hit .271 with 31 homers and 111 RBIs last year, becoming the first Twin since Gary Gaetti in 1987 to have back-to-back 30-homer seasons. The team tried to lock him up long term before last season, but talks stalled during spring training.
Cuddyer has emerged as a dependable run producer in the middle of the lineup. After years at different infield positions, he earned the right field job and hit .276 with 16 homers and 81 RBIs last season. He led the AL with 19 outfield assists while perfecting the art of playing the ball off that tricky big baggie at the Metrodome.
He gets a $2.75 million signing bonus and salaries of $5 million this year, $6.75 million in 2009 and $8.5 million in 2010. Minnesota has a $10.5 million club option for 2011 with a $1 million buyout.
The Twins, with a core of Morneau, Cuddyer and catcher Joe Mauer to carry them into their new ballpark in 2010, have reached agreement with all of their arbitration-eligible players.

The PB refuses to answer my inquiry regarding their refusing to provide a betting line for the NFL. Any insights?

Packers on their way to the Super Bowl!!
Posted by: RochesterMN at 4:44PM EST on January 15, 2008
What a great weekend of football! However, being a Packer fan, my favorite game was obviously Green Bay/Seattle, in which Green Bay beat Seattle 42-20. The Packers played a great game. Their opponent in next week's game, the NY Giants also played a good game on Sunday against the Cowboys and pulled out a 21-17 win.
Looking ahead to next week's game, Giants/Packers at Lambeau - the Giants have a great record for wins away from NY - with 9 straight wins at away games. However, Farve has played and thrived in Green Bay for 16 seasons and the Packers are 8-1 at Lambeau this season and 8-2 at home in the post season. Also, factor in the weather, with a long range forercast predicting a high of 4 degrees, Eli Manning and the Giants have a tough game ahead of them. Eli's recent revival have all been won in good weather and he attributed his problems in the previous 4 games to the wind and cold.
Green Bay's chances on Sunday are looking good and my prediction is Green Bay beating New York by 10.
GO PACK GO!
